About Me

My name is Coyri and I have been in love with black and white movies since I was a child. Influenced by my mother, I can remember days laying in bed with her with a hot bag of popcorn and the TV tuned in on the Turner Classic Movie channel. My interest in silent films came upon by accident one night waking up to a muted tv screen and words that kept me captivated. I immediately fell in love with the historical look of the locations, the model-T cars, technology, vintage stores and products with prices we haven’t seen in years. I fell in love with the humor, the action, and the old way of doing things. While I can’t seem to get my mother to watch a silent film with me, I enjoy telling her about the halarious and intriguing plots with my never ending ploy to get her to cave in. Now in days my movie partner has changed to a 9 year old mild mannered but attention hogging boston terrier named Miss Pickles. While I snack on popcorn and pickles, I make sure to have a handful of treats for her. My mother and I still converse weekly to share any good black and white movies that we’ve come across and continue to share our bond of the classics together.

I do enjoy dramas, comedies, and vintage horror movies, but crime stories have always excited me. Oddly, all the police needed was a motive and somehow they’d find their guy. A far contrast to our requirements to convict today! With their exciting twists and sporadic comedic moments I can’t help but be captivated by each story. My excitement to retell the plot to anyone I know is usually uncontainable. I find black and white, vintage movies to be just as entertaining as movies today and if I can share the shocking reveals and climatic endings, I’m certain others will love them as much as I do.

I hope you enjoy my page as I share the best vintage crime movies from the silent era to 1950 black and white talkies!
